An Egyptian chemical plant encountered difficulties in transporting phosphoric acid slurry during the production of phosphoric acid. This kind of slurry is highly corrosive, has high viscosity and contains solid particles.
In terms of corrosion, ordinary pumps cannot withstand the erosion of phosphoric acid slurry and will soon get damaged. However, the fluorine-lined alloy centrifugal pump we provided for them has the pump body and impeller made of corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant alloy with fluorine plastic lining. The excellent corrosion resistance of the fluorine plastic effectively resists the corrosion of the slurry.
To address the issue of wear, the structure of the impeller was optimized. The design of large channels and low rotation speed reduces the impact wear of solid particles on the impeller and pump casing. Meanwhile, the inlet and outlet flow channels were improved to make the slurry flow more smoothly, reduce vortices and turbulent flows, and ensure the stability of flow rate and pressure. The sealing system adopts double mechanical seals and a sealing flushing system. The flushing liquid is compatible with the slurry, isolating the slurry from the sealing surface and prolonging the service life of the seals.
During the installation and commissioning stage, our professional team went to the Egyptian site to provide guidance, strictly installed according to the standards and carried out meticulous commissioning. After that, operation and maintenance training was carried out for the personnel of the chemical plant. The content covered principles, key points of maintenance, methods of fault diagnosis and troubleshooting. A maintenance plan was also formulated.
Since being put into use, the transfer pump has been running stably without any corrosion or wear failures. The stable flow rate and pressure have ensured continuous production, and the production efficiency has been significantly improved. The costs of frequent pump repairs and replacements have been reduced, including labor hours for maintenance and costs of spare parts. The losses caused by product quality problems due to equipment failures have also been avoided. This cooperation has greatly enhanced customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, it has demonstrated our strong strength in the field of chemical fluid transfer equipment in the local chemical industry, creating favorable conditions for further expanding the market.
