Project Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A nickel mine in Indonesia has abundant nickel ore resources and a large – scale production. During the nickel ore mining and processing, there are a large number of transportation operations for nickel – containing slurry and corrosive chemical solutions. The original transportation equipment of the plant has problems such as leakage, frequent replacement of wearing parts, and inability to meet the high – lift transportation requirements during long – term operation, which have seriously affected the production efficiency and economic benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection of Submersible Pumps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After detailed on – site investigation and technical analysis, we have selected specially customized vertical submersible pumps<\/strong> for this nickel mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Considering the corrosiveness of the transmission medium in the nickel mine (containing acid, alkali and heavy metal ions), a c<\/strong><\/a>hemical resistant submersible pump<\/strong> is selected. The main components of this pump are made of duplex stainless steel with extremely strong corrosion resistance. This material can not only effectively resist chemical corrosion but also has good mechanical properties and can withstand the scouring and wear of the slurry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In view of the characteristic that the nickel slurry contains certain particles, a semi – open impeller is selected. The special structure of the semi – open impeller allows solid particles to pass through while ensuring relatively high pumping efficiency. Its design has been optimized through fluid mechanics simulation to reduce the clogging and wear phenomena of the slurry at the impeller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the requirements of different production processes in the nickel mine, various s<\/strong><\/a>ubmersible corrosion-resistant pumps<\/strong> with different head and flow specifications have been customized. In the leaching process, the slurry needs to be lifted to a higher position for reaction. Therefore, a high – head submersible pump is selected to ensure that the slurry can be stably transported to the designated reaction equipment. In the process of slurry transfer in some intermediate processes, submersible chemical pumps<\/strong> with appropriate flow are selected according to the actual flow requirements to meet the continuity and stability of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operation Effects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After the newly installed submersible pumps are put into operation, the continuous operation time in the nickel mine has been greatly extended. Compared with the previous equipment, the number of shutdowns due to failures has been significantly reduced, ensuring the continuity of the production process. For example, in the leaching workshop, the submersible pumps can stably transport the slurry to the autoclave under high – load operation, and there has never been a production interruption due to pump failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The customized industrial submersible pumps<\/strong> are perfectly matched with the production process in terms of head and flow, so that the slurry transportation efficiency has been significantly improved. In the entire production line of the nickel mine, the time of the slurry transportation process has been shortened by about 20%, effectively improving the production efficiency of the entire nickel ore processing.
