Latar Belakang Proyek
The customer is a new energy materials technology company based in Anhui Province, China, primarily engaged in recycling waste lithium batteries and purifying new energy materials.
During the lithium battery recycling process, the production line involves various challenging media, including highly corrosive hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate solution, and highly abrasive lithium iron phosphate (LFP) slurry. Due to these harsh operating conditions, the original pumping equipment frequently experienced corrosion leakage, blockage, and wear problems, resulting in a high production line downtime rate and increased maintenance costs.
For this lithium battery recycling application, the customer required a reliable corrosion-resistant pump solution to handle corrosive chemicals and abrasive slurry during the material purification process.

- Strong Corrosion and Oxidation: During the acid leaching process, strong oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) and acidic solutions are used. Conventional metal pumps are easily affected by severe pitting corrosion and oxidation damage under these operating conditions.
- Strong Alkalinity and High Crystallization Tendency: During the precipitation process, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) solutions may form crystals when the operating temperature changes. These crystals can increase mechanical seal wear and affect pump stability.
- High Abrasive Slurry: The recovered lithium iron phosphate (LFP) slurry contains high-hardness micron-sized solid particles. The impellers and wetted parts of ordinary chemical pumps can suffer rapid wear and erosion during operation.
Before this project, the customer used conventional stainless-steel and acid-resistant pumps. After less than two months of operation, problems such as shaft seal leakage, impeller wear, and serious flow reduction occurred frequently. The production line had to stop frequently for maintenance, affecting overall production efficiency.
