The FZB series fluoroplastic self priming pumps are a new generation of corrosion-resistant self-priming centrifugal pumps developed by Changyu Pump. Based on the traditional ZX and ZW self-priming centrifugal pumps and utilising IHF’s fluoroplastic lining technology, these pumps retain the self-priming capabilities of the ZX and ZW models while significantly enhancing corrosion resistance through the fluoroplastic lining process.

The flange design complies with national standards, and the shaft seal employs an advanced external bellows mechanical seal. The self-priming head can reach up to 5 meters, and installing a check valve at the bottom can increase this by an additional 1–2 meters. This centrifugal pump only needs to be filled with liquid before its first use. When the liquid level is below 1.5 meters, it offers advantages over submersible pumps, including lower cost, easier maintenance, longer service life, and lower operating costs.

Working Principle of FZB Series Fluorine-lined Self-priming Pump

The FZB series utilizes an external-mix gas-liquid separation structure. Its core operation is defined by the process of “mixing, separation, and recirculation,” allowing the pump to evacuate air from the suction line without the need for a foot valve or manual priming after the initial setup.

1. The Priming Phase (Air Evacuation)

  • Carga inicial: Before the first operation, the pump casing must be filled with liquid. This “priming liquid” is retained in the lower chamber for all future starts.
  • Vacuum Creation: Upon startup, the high-speed rotation of the impeller flings the liquid toward the outer edge of the volute casing. This creates a low-pressure vacuum zone at the impeller eye (inlet).
  • Gas-Liquid Mixing: Air from the suction pipe is drawn into the pump body due to the pressure differential. The impeller violently agitates the air and the priming liquid, creating a highly aerated gas-liquid mixture.
