The customer is engaged in spodumene lithium extraction using the sulfuric acid leaching process. The production line includes crushing and grinding, roasting, sulfuric acid leaching, impurity removal, filtration, evaporation, concentration, and lithium carbonate precipitation.

During long-term operation, the plant continuously transfers high-temperature acidic slurry and high-solid-content mineral slurry. The original metal centrifugal pumps frequently experienced casing corrosion, impeller wear, mechanical seal leakage, and excessive vibration after only 3–5 months of service.

The most severe problems occurred in the acid leaching and filter press feeding sections, where the slurry contained both sulfuric acid and fine mineral particles. The combination of chemical corrosion and abrasive wear significantly reduced pump service life and increased maintenance downtime, affecting the stability of the entire lithium production process.
