Introduction

The CYL Series Vertical Pump is a highly efficient vertical centrifugal pipeline pump specifically designed for direct pipeline connection. Featuring an inline design (with inlet and outlet on the same centerline), this series’ compact vertical structure delivers exceptional pressure-boosting performance while significantly reducing installation time and optimizing space utilization.

A key advantage of the CYL Series is its integration of advanced fluoroplastic lining technology. By harnessing the centrifugal force generated by the motor-driven impeller’s high-speed rotation, it enables the continuous and stable conveyance of highly corrosive media. Thanks to its superior chemical stability, this vertical pump is not only widely used in municipal water supply and drainage, HVAC circulation, and fire protection boosting systems, but also serves as core equipment for handling acidic and alkaline fluids in the chemical, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries. Changyu Pump offers flexible, customized solutions to ensure that every pump precisely meets your specific operational requirements.

Working Principle

After the motor starts, it drives the pump shaft and impeller to rotate at high speed. Liquid enters through the center of the impeller and is flung outward by centrifugal force. It then converts into pressure energy within the volute or guide passages, propelling the liquid toward the outlet to achieve stable flow rate and head. Simultaneously, the pressure at the impeller’s center decreases, creating a vacuum zone that continuously draws in fresh liquid. This enables continuous fluid conveyance, effectively elevating the medium’s pressure to accomplish long-distance or high-rise water supply tasks.

Parts

The Vertical Centrifugal Pipeline Pump consists of main components including the pump body, impeller, motor, and mechanical seal. The impeller is directly mounted on the motor’s extended shaft, featuring a compact axial dimension for stable operation. The inlet and outlet ports share the same diameter and are aligned on the same centerline, facilitating installation within piping systems. The sealing assembly employs a wear-resistant mechanical seal, ensuring extended service life and convenient maintenance.

  • Pump Body: Features a tightly bonded fluorinated lining that has undergone annealing to effectively prevent cracking. The outer layer’s strength is perfectly combined with the corrosion resistance of the inner PFA/PVDF/ETFE/FEP layer, ensuring no deformation under high pressure.
  • High-Performance Impeller: Manufactured from pure, pigment-free raw materials (such as PFA and FEP), the unique T-shaped taper design balances wear resistance with deformation resistance, with a temperature resistance of up to 150°C.
  • Self-developed Mechanical Seal: A modified sealing assembly developed specifically for complex chemical media, featuring a V-shaped groove with a highly elastic structure that provides exceptional zero-leakage assurance and extended service life.
  • Precision Bearings: Manufactured from high-grade GCr15 bearing steel and pre-lubricated with premium grease. High rotational precision and low friction coefficients not only effectively reduce operating noise but also extend the maintenance cycle of the entire unit.

Operating Conditions for Vertical Pumps

Suction inlet pressure ≤ 1.0 MPa, or maximum system operating pressure ≤ 1.6 MPa (suction inlet pressure + head ≤ 1.6 MPa). The pump’s static pressure test pressure is 2.5 MPa. If system pressure exceeds 1.6 MPa, special instructions must be provided at the time of ordering to select cast steel flow-through components and connecting parts.

Ambient temperature shall not exceed 40°C, with relative humidity not exceeding 95%.

Solid particle content in conveyed medium ≤0.1% (by volume), particle size <0.2mm. If the medium contains fine particles, specify at the time of ordering to ensure the installation of wear-resistant mechanical seals.

FAQs

The primary advantages of a Vertical Pump include a significantly smaller footprint (space-saving), an inline design for easier piping, and simplified maintenance. For industrial sites with limited space, a vertical structure allows direct installation into the pipeline without complex foundations. This design reduces installation costs, improves system efficiency, and ensures easier integration into existing piping systems.

Yes. The CYL Series is a specialized fluoroplastic lined pump. Its internal components are made of materials such as PTFE, PFA, or FEP, making it exceptionally resistant to strong acids (such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acid), alkalis, and aggressive organic solvents. This ensures long-term durability, minimizes corrosion-related failures, and provides reliable performance in demanding chemical processing environments.

These pumps are ideal for industries requiring acid and alkali resistance, such as chemical processing, electroplating, pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment. They are also widely used in HVAC systems and industrial boosting applications where space optimization is critical. Their compact structure and reliable performance make them suitable for continuous operation in both corrosive and general fluid handling systems.

No. Thanks to its direct-coupled design, the motor and pump shaft are integrated. This eliminates the need for manual alignment during installation, reducing labor costs while ensuring lower vibration and noise during operation. The simplified installation process also shortens project timelines and helps maintain stable performance over long-term operation.

The standard operating temperature for our fluoroplastic vertical pump is ≤ 80°C. However, with customized material configurations (such as PFA or PVDF), it can safely handle corrosive media with temperatures ranging from -20°C to +120°C. This flexibility allows the pump to adapt to various chemical applications involving both low-temperature and high-temperature working conditions.

Our CYL Series features a self-developed mechanical seal that allows inspection without disconnecting the pipeline. Regular checks of the seal condition and ensuring the medium is free of large solid particles will significantly extend the service life of the Vertical Pump. Proper maintenance also reduces downtime, prevents leakage, and ensures consistent and reliable pump performance.
