What Is a Fluoroplastic Centrifugal Pump?

A fluoroplastic centrifugal pump is a corrosion-resistant chemical pump designed for transporting aggressive liquids that conventional metal pumps cannot safely handle. The CYF Series adopts a metal casing lined with high-performance fluoroplastics such as FEP, PFA, and PTFE to provide long-term resistance against highly corrosive chemicals.

Fluoroplastic centrifugal pump impeller, pump body and other flow-through parts all adopt perfluorinated or fluorine-lined corrosion-isolating medium structures. The pump cover, impeller and shaft sleeve are all made of metal inserts wrapped with fluoroplastics and sintered and pressed as a whole. The flow-through pump shaft and sliding bearings adopt corrosion-resistant industrial ceramic structure, which has the characteristics of compact and reasonable structure, strong corrosion resistance, and strict and reliable sealing performance.

The pump is widely used in industries requiring reliable transfer of acids, alkalis, solvents, and chemical wastewater.

Part of Fluoroplastic Centrifugal Pump

The CYF Series Fluoroplastic Centrifugal Pump adopts a heavy-duty corrosion-resistant structural design specifically engineered for aggressive chemical transfer applications. Each core component is optimized for chemical compatibility, sealing reliability, mechanical strength, and long-term operational stability.

fluoroplastic centrifugal pump parts

The pump casing adopts a metal shell with fluoroplastic lining for enhanced mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The impeller and pump cover are molded with fluoroplastics and reinforced with metal inserts.

The shaft seal uses an external bellows mechanical seal design:

  • Stationary Ring: 99.9% alumina ceramic or silicon carbide
  • Rotary Ring: PTFE-filled material or silicon carbide

This structure provides:

  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Reliable sealing performance
  • Stable operation
  • Reduced leakage risks
  • Extended service life

Working Principle

The fluoroplastic lined centrifugal pump operates through centrifugal force generated by the rotating impeller.

When the motor drives the impeller at high speed, liquid enters through the suction inlet and is accelerated outward by centrifugal force. The kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy inside the pump casing, allowing the liquid to be continuously delivered through the discharge pipeline.

The fluoroplastic-lined flow passage protects the pump from corrosion while maintaining efficient and stable liquid transportation.

This design enables the pump to safely handle:

  • Strong acids
  • Strong alkalis
  • Corrosive chemical liquids
  • High-temperature chemical media
  • Industrial wastewater
